BOLTT Policies and Protocols

All BOLTT conference attendees, organizers, volunteers, and other support staff have a right to be safe and feel safe in an environment that promotes responsibility, respect, civility, inclusivity, and professionalism. It is incumbent upon all involved to ensure we support efforts to make our environment safe, inclusive, and accepting.

In order to maintain appropriate standards of behaviour, all BOLTT conference attendees, organizers, volunteers, and other support staff must:

  • respect and comply with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws

  • respect differences in people, as well as their ideas and opinions

  • treat others with dignity and respect at all times, and especially when there is disagreement

  • respect and treat others equitably, regardless of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, marital status, family status, or disability

  • respect the rights of others

  • demonstrate honesty and integrity

  • show proper care and regard for conference venue property and the property of others

  • take appropriate measures to help those in need

  • seek assistance, if necessary, to resolve conflicts peacefully

  • respect the need of others to work in an environment that is conducive to learning and teaching, including by ensuring that personal mobile devices are not disruptive to those nearby

Registering for this event is your AFFIRMATIVE CONSENT to the privacy and usage terms below.

Attendee information (i.e., your “Data”) is collected by the OeLC (Ontario eLearning Consortium) during conference registration and conference workshop selection and used for the following purposes:

  • To fulfill your request to register for this event.
  • To permit the OeLC to view, process, modify, report on or otherwise interact with the information contained in your registration in order to fulfill our obligations to you pursuant to your registration.
  • To permit you to re-access your Data for any purpose you deem appropriate and as permitted by OeLC (e.g., modifying selections after registration or changing personal information).

Your Data is only accessible to members the OeLC BOLTT Conference Organizing Committee. The Committee shall not use, retain or disclose personal information for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as authorized or required by legislation.

You have the following rights as it relates to your Data:

  • ACCESS The right of access, (e.g. the right view your registration and personal Data);
  • CORRECTION The right to correction and removal of your personal Data;
  • CONSENT The right to impose restrictions on the use of your personal Data, provided that such requests do not unreasonably interfere with the event host’s use of such Data in an effort to manage your registration.
  • ERASURE The right to request that OeLC purge your personal data from our systems. OeLC will comply with such requests except to the extent that such a request relates to an event that has yet to be held for which you are a registered attendee or to the extent that removal of such information would violate any law or regulation. In order to effectuate the erasure of a data subject record, please contact OeLC at the destinations displayed atop our event website.
  • PORTABILITY The right to retrieve that data;
  • STORAGE Data submitted on the Website will remain in the United States of America on servers operated by Eventsquid, LLC within the Amazon RWS system provided OeLC does not distribute said Data. Eventsquid LLC can only guarantee that it will not distribute Data without your express permission.

Use of Photos and Videos

Conference attendees, volunteers and staff may be recorded or photographed electronically during BOLTT Conference events and activities. These images may be shared in OeLC and BOLTT promotional content and/or on the OeLC and/or BOLTT websites. It is our expectation that images and personal information captured are for educational and conference promotional purposes only. Before capturing recordings or photographs, it is expected that the subjects are informed that they are being recorded and/or photographed and are given the option to opt out. Questions or concerns regarding this should be directed to the OeLC Program Coordinator at program@oelc.ca.

Your health and wellness are of utmost importance to us. In order to prevent the spread of illness, we ask that all event attendees abide by the following:

  • Provincial mask requirements have been lifted for organized public events in Ontario, however BOLTT conference attendees are welcome to wear a mask without judgment or comment if they feel it is right for them. We respect each individual’s choice and expect the same of everyone in attendance at the BOLTT conference.

  • Use Ontario’s provincial self-assessment screening tool to receive recommendations on what to do if you have symptoms of illness or tested positive for COVID-19, and follow the recommendations provided. 

  • By attending the BOLTT Conference, you agree to follow all Ontario public health protocols, including all provincial COVID-19 health measures found at the following links: 

  • To cancel a registration, please send an email to the OeLC Program Coordinator at program@oelc.ca no later than 10 business days prior to the first day of the BOLTT conference.

  • Invoicing for conference attendance will not apply if cancellations are received on or before 10 business days prior to the first day of the BOLTT conference. Conference billing will take place for all registrations that remain active 9 business days prior to the first day of the BOLTT conference. 

  • The OeLC (Ontario eLearning Consortium) reserves the right to cancel programs and/or sessions if minimum numbers are not met.

  • The OeLC (Ontario eLearning Consortium) reserves the right to refuse entrance to any participants who have not registered prior to the BOLTT Conference or have not provided required registration information.

  • The OeLC (Ontario eLearning Consortium) reserves the right to cancel the BOLTT Conference without liability upon the occurrence of any circumstance beyond its control – such as acts of God, war, acts of terrorism, government regulations, pandemic, disaster, disease, strikes or work action, civil disorder, or curtailment of transportation facilities – to the extent that such circumstance makes it illegal or impossible to provide, or for groups in general to attend, the event.
